The finishing quality of a flatwork ironer strongly depends on good contact between the linen and the heated ironer chest.
Even a small reduction in roll diameter can significantly affect finishing quality. On modern ironers with deep chests and large roll diameters, a loss of only 2 mm can, according to the current technical positioning, reduce quality by up to 40%.
Efficient evacuation of moisture and steam is also essential. When the spring padding is worn, contaminated or blocked, the evaporation process cannot operate optimally. This can affect drying performance, finishing quality and the service life of the ironer felt.
Max Press is a high-performance spring padding for industrial flatwork ironers, combining durability, stability and reliable felt support.
Its construction is designed for intensively used ironers where even pressure distribution and efficient evacuation of moisture and steam are important.

Preformed base band
The spring is securely fixed to a preformed base band. This reduces the risk of the spring becoming detached during intensive operation or when unexpected objects pass between the rolls.
Perforated construction
The perforated base allows effective suction through the ironer roll and promotes the evacuation of moisture and steam.
Extra-wide hooked surface
The wide surface provides even support for the ironer felt. It promotes heat transfer and helps prevent the spring from pushing through the felt after prolonged use.
Suitable for large rolls
Max Press is particularly suitable for wide ironer rolls exposed to high mechanical loads. Its stable construction provides reliable support during intensive operation.

For Lapauw ironers equipped with thick felts, springs are installed directly onto the ironer roll.
This construction keeps the openings in the roll free, allowing efficient evacuation of moisture and steam.
On certain older ironers, other padding systems are still used, including constructions based on wound steel wool.
Our technicians can carry out the installation, replacement and repair of spring padding on site throughout the Benelux.
Following installation, several technical checks can be performed:

These checks allow us not only to replace the padding, but also to evaluate the technical operation of the ironer after installation.
