Precoating powder is a chemically inert powder with an average particle size of approximately 0.02µ.  The powder is used on filter elements and sleeves coming into contact with fine and sticky dust (e.g. in welding fume extraction, plasma cutting and paint coating).

The precoat powder acts as a barrier between the filter medium and the material to be filtered, preventing often sticky dust particles from clogging.  In this way the powder acts as a protective layer on the filter, easing the removel of the filter cake.  This has a very beneficial effect on the life span of the filters.

In many cases people use chalk.  Our precoating powder however is much lighter, barely releases during the cleaning cycle, and therefore has a much longer service life.  Consumption is around 200 - 250 g/m² for filter sleeves and bags and 130 - 150 g/m² for filter cartridges.
