Aramid Wax Cloths for Flatwork Ironers

These professional wax cloths are designed for the even application of ironer wax to industrial flatwork ironer chests. Each cloth consists of a strong aramid base fabric fitted with a silicone-coated polyester wax pocket.

The aramid base cloth is suitable for use at the high temperatures encountered in industrial ironing. The integrated wax pocket helps keep the ironer wax in place while the cloth is fed into the machine.

Why should an ironer chest be waxed?

A flatwork ironer chest should be waxed regularly to help the linen glide smoothly through the ironer. A properly maintained chest surface supports consistent linen feeding and helps reduce friction and wrinkling.

The wax is placed inside the designated wax pocket. The cloth is then fed evenly through the ironer to distribute the wax across the chest surface.

Protection of the ironer felt

The polyester wax pocket has a silicone coating. This protective layer helps prevent the wax from coming into direct contact with the ironer felt while the cloth passes through the machine.

This is important because excess wax can saturate the ironer felt. Saturation may reduce its air permeability and cause dirt to accumulate more easily in the felt.

Available dimensions

The aramid wax cloths are available in the following dimensions:

• 150 cm wide × approx. 100 cm long
• 180 cm wide × approx. 100 cm long
• 220 cm wide × approx. 100 cm long

Select the appropriate width according to the working width of the ironer and the waxing procedure used. If necessary, a narrower wax cloth can be passed successively through different sections of the ironer chest.

Heat-protection gloves included

Heat-protection gloves are supplied with each wax cloth. Use these gloves when handling the cloth near the hot ironer.

Instructions for use

Apply the recommended quantity of ironer wax evenly inside the wax pocket. Close or cover the wax area as intended and feed the cloth evenly and without folds through the ironer.

Always follow the machine and wax manufacturers’ maintenance, temperature and safety instructions. Only use wax suitable for industrial flatwork ironers.
